Last nights Jamaican Dinner is now part of Gourmet Dinner Club history.  A fantastic feast of authentic Jamaican cuisine.  ma and pa wertPlus being at Mike and Maureens house with beer on tap and all the other beverages we had to sample it was a major party!!  Mike and Mareen outdid themselves as they always do and hosted an excellent party.  We were glad to have our guest couples with us,  Gus & Carol and Brad & Samatha.  Both couples have been to our dinners before and we had a great night!  Only bad thing about the evening was the absence of Judy Wert who was home sick.   Hope your feeling better Judy!!

A big Thank You goes out to Mike and Maureen and everyone else that attended and helped make last night party another one to remember.

More to come about the Dinner itself but for now you can take a look at my pictures.

Jamaican flag

Cuisine of Jamaica contains cooking techniques, flavors, spices and influences from each of the many waves of immigration to the island. Today, dishes which grace nearly every Jamaican menu include curry goat, fried dumplings, ackee and salt fish (cod) (the national dish of Jamaica), fried plantain, “jerk”, steamed cabbage and “rice and peas” (pigeon peas or kidney beans).
