Its Dinner Time!!

Hope everyone has their recipes ready because our Dinner Party is this Saturday night at Jim and Judy’s house.  Its a Mediterranian theme and Jim is whipping up a Paela which promises to be a treat.  Plus our special guests will be there and we all know what it means to have Gus and Carol with us.  Great dessert and side busting laughter!  We haven’t seen them for a little while so it will be nice.  So get ready to party hardy and we’ll see you all there.

Next Dinner on June 28th 2008

Its official!!  The next Gourmet Dinner Club party will be on Saturday June 28th at Jim and Judy’s House.  It will be a Mediterranian Theme with Jim will be making his famous Paela.  A Classic Spanish/Mediterranian seafood dish that he has made for us before and we all loved.  So get out your recipe books and recipe websites and get your dish together.   The course rotation chart is on the “Who We Are” page if you need to check your course assignment.  Guess we’ll see you all at the party if not sooner!!

Added Note!!  Gus and Carol Maier will be our guests.  Carol has been named the dessert queen before and I’m sure she will treat us all to something good.  Carol, Jim and Mike (Wert) together at the same table is always a blast.

We may have a date!

The word is June 28th will be the date of our next Gourmet Dinner Club party.  Our next dinner will be at Judy and Jims house, out on the porch, with the hot tub running and the blender blending.  I think the theme is to be Spanish since Judy has already given us their chosen entre.  Jim is making a Paella.  We have been treated to Jim’s version of this classic dish before and no one was disappointed.  A great dish for a party.  Alright more to come later but that is the word as of now.  Stay tuned and have a Great Memorial Day weekend!

Happy Mothers Day

We want to wish all the Mothers out there a Happy Day tomorrow.  It is their special day and we hope the moms in our group along with every other Mother out there has a Happy Mothers Day!

What is Next For the club??

Our last dinner was a lot of fun and we all Thank Mike and Maureen for hosting a fabulous party.  The next dinner falls on Jim and Judy and details should be forthcoming.  Although I think Judy has some specific ideas or plans and we are waiting to hear what she has in mind.  In the mean time Mike has mentioned getting together for one of our road trips and dinner outings.  It’s been a while and it would be good to get together without the pressure of preparing food to eat out and enjoy a night on the town.  So we need to get a discussion going and figure out our next moves. 

1 – Plans for the next dinner.  The quicker we get dates out the easier it is to get one that we all agree upon.

2 – Lets get a night out planned.  Mike has mentioned a few good ideas and we should get a date together for this.  This can be a Sunday even or a Friday night.  After all we are not cooking.

Another thing that has been brought up is the addition of new members.  New members can add new ideas and diversity to our group.  But are we ready?  Are we able to add another variable to our scheduling?  There are other things to consider too.  Like that would be 10 people for dinner and with a guest couple 12 or more.  Thats a big dinner and more to prepare for as a host or guest.  Are we all still that commited?  I think the 4 couples each having 1 dinner a year seems to be a pretty hard thing to do these days with everyone having their own social schedules.  These are the things I think we have to discuss before bringing on additional members
