7-18-09 Our Summer Barbeque

We had a terrific dinner last night at Jim and Judy’s house.  Ribs, Corn, Shrimp and more!!   Jim and Judy’s guest were Ben and Jenn who brought the appetizers which started us off on our summer feast.  So our appetizers consisted of some Shrimp-K- Bobs and a unique ceation of Mac and Cheese with Bacon on baguet slices.  Very tastey!! Also Jimmy made some of his fried Crab Balls and homemade dipping sauce.

After letting the appetizers settle a bit we sat down and had some salad that the Rinker’s brought.  Summer greens and home made blueberry vinegrette dressing.

Next soup that the Browne’s made.  Coconut Shrimp Soup.  Shrimp cooked in a broth of coconut milk, lime and toasted coriander.   A nice refreshing light soup as the prelude to our main dish.

Okay we needed a little rest again so we sat around and chatted a little bit about the book “Cooking Club” that talks about our club and even mentions our names.

A while ago a woman contacted Annette and intervied her about our club.  After she wrote her book she sent a copy to Annette that she brough and shared with us last night.  Pretty cool.

Okay time for the Main Event.  Jimmy cooked up a delicious batch of Ribs with his own barbeque sauce.  These ribs were absolutely mouth watering.  Sauce was sweet and spicey and the meat just fell off the bones.  Some fresh corn on the cob was also served up along with some grilled vegetable slices Anntette and Rink made.  Nice!!!

After a couple after dinner drinks Judy brought out dessert.  Home made pound cake with fresh fruit and whipped cream.  Perfect ending to a fantastic meal.

We missed Mike and Maureen at last nights dinner but we partied the best we could without them.

Thanks go out to Jim and Judy for hosting a nice dinner and also Thanks to our guests, and new friends, Ben and Jenn who as first time guests jumped right in there and added some great food to our meal.

Our Jamaican Feast 2/7/09

Here is the run down on what we ate at our Jamaican Dinner.

All of the dishes were very authentic and I think we all did a great job with the theme. Everything was delicious!

Dinner started out with appetizers that the Rinker’s brought.  Hot Yam dip and Pan Fied Plantain chips.  The dip was spicy and the chips were sweet.  Nice combination of  flavors.

Comfort Foods Dinner 11/22/08

Our Comfort Foods Dinner Party last night was absolutely delicious. We all had a great time and ate like kings and queens. No one left hungry!!


Our dinner started out with Appetizers from Sally and Bob. Baked Stuffed Mushrooms and a nice Crab Dip Plate. Plus an assortment of Beer, Wine, and other beverages.


Next we sat down at the table for Soup. Mike and Maureen brought home made Chicken Soup that put anything in a can to shame.


Following Soup we were served up a Caesar Salad that Jim and Judy brought. It had Shrimp and yummie Anchovies and Jimmy’s home made dressing. Jim had a little problem with the dressing but got the salad mixed to the table. We all loved it!!!

Now it was time for the Main Event. Our main dish was Annette’s Home Made Chicken Pot Pies. Individual Pot Pies with a nice crispy crust that were out of this world.

Along with our main dish, Jim and Judy served up a nice Cheesy Brocolli and Cauliflour caserole. At this point everyone was quite full and quite comfortable.

Afte a little rest period listening to some great tunes we had dessert. Rink’s friends cancelled out so Annette made dessert for us. Sweet Potatoe Pie and Baked Pears. Very delicious and a great ending to another wonderful Dinner Party.

Past Dinner February 2007

The dinners from 2007 never really made it to the website.  Must have partied too hard and lost the pictures or forgot to write anything down.  I do have some pictures that that I have recently found so I will post them and see if anyone remembers any details.  Looks like it may have been a Greek Dinner.  These pictures are dated Feb 24th, 2007 so we must have had a dinner then.  Pictures show it was at Jim and Judy Wert’s house and our guests were Carol and Gus.  Here’s the pictures.
