Sally and BobOur Tuscan Dinner at Bob and Sally’s house this past Saturday night was delicious.  It was a smaller than usual party as our guests backed out and Jim was not feeling well so he and Judy didn’t come either.  But that didn’t stop us from having a great dinner and party to boot.  Sally hustled up an appetizer.  She made vadallia onion pizzas that were quite tasty.  Annette made a hearty eggplant soup that was yummy and Maureen made a fresh tomato, basil salad with balsamic vinigar.  Next came the entre.  Sally made Tuscan Rosemary Roasted Chicken that was served with Maureen and Mike’s Pasta with homemade sauce.   All very delicious.  For dessert we had an assortment of Italian (style) cookies and Lemon Water Ice in martini glasses.  After all that eating we sat back and talked for a while, drank a little more, then called it a night.  A good night at that.

entre.jpgOur dinner at Jim and Judy’s is now part of history.  We had a wonderful party with great food, a long soaking in the hot tub, too much beer and wine, and lots of laughter.  We had an additional guest, Judy’s long time girlfriend Chris joined us, making it a party of 11 with Carol and Gus joining us too.

We started out with plenty of appetizers.  Annette and Rink brought some kind of delicious grainy crackers and a chic pea spread/dip that got us all thinking Mediterranian and Chris made a Spanish Tortilla which was a baked potato, cheese and egg dish.  Very Mediterranian!  Mike and Maureen also brought an appetizer of clams with spicey sausage and white beans.

I could have walked away then but there was much more to come.  We took a little break and endulged in some more drink and what not,,, then gathered around the table and had some chilled Sally Browne Gaspacho with some big croutons.  Even after all the appetizers this was very refreshing and went down very well.  Then we had a fresh green salad that Annette made with some home grown veggies along with her homemade Salad Dressing.

Our Gourmet Dinner Club held a fantastic dinner on March 8th, 2008 at Mike and Maureen’s house.  The guests were Brad and Samantha who live accross the street from Mike and Maureen.  Dinner was fabulous starting with appetizers that Rink and Annette brought.  A hardy crab soup from Jim and Judy Wert. A nice organic salad with homemade dressing by Sally and Bob.  A main dish of Lamb chops and grilled chicken with a side of fruit salsa by our hosts Mike and Maureen, and grilled asparagus topped with bacon also by Sally and Bob.  For dessert, our guests treated us each to a rich chocolate lava cake.  WOW what a meal!!!  Mike’s beer myster was in full working order and flowing nicely.  We ended the night drinking and playing WII video games till pretty late.  Another Nice Party!!
