Gourmet Dinner Club gathering held on
March 24, 2001

Our Second Dinner of the New Year.
Held at The Rinker's Place.
Theme: Hawaiian
NOTE: This was the first dinner hosted by Annette and Rink.

Everyone arrived at the Rinker's place ready to eat. We all got ourselves something to drink and started to party. Annette served up a bowl of Hawaiian Punch which wasn't like the Hawaiian Punch we drank as kids. It was a little more potent!!

Everyone from the club was in attendance that night except for Jim and Judy who did not attend this one. Annette and Rink had Laura and Steve Perch as our guest couple.

Bob and Sally brought the appetizers. We had a Salmon Party Spread served up on some light crackers along with Terriaki Meatballs. We also brought along a Hawaiian Specialty, Spicey Spam and Pineapple.

After we endulged in our appetizers we made our way to the table. For our first course we had a fresh salad served up by Pat and Dan that consisted of leafy greens and a home made ranch style dressing. To make it "Hawaiian" Pat topped the salad with Mandarin Oranges which gave it a tropical flare

Next we had a Seafood Bisque soup made by Maureen and Mike. It was made using home made fish stock and was quite delicious.

Okay here comes the main dish! Annette and Rink served us each a Swordfish Steak garnished with a freshly made Papaya Relish. After that they brought out the roasted pig. Actually it was a slow roasted piece of pork that just fell apart and melted in your mouth.

After we rested a little bit we found room for desert. Our guests treated us to a homemade coconut cake and little pastry shells stuffed with a macademia nut filling both of which were absolutely yummy....

After desert we sat around and talked a bit, drank a bit, and even played a little pool. Then the evening was over and another gathering of our Gourmet Dinner Club was only a memory....

Our next gathering is at Dan and Pat's house on June 9th. See ya all there....
