Gourmet Club Dinner
held on April 26th, 2003




Our "Kick It Up A Notch" Dinner

The gathering was held at Dan and Pat's house and the theme was "Kick it up a notch with Emeril Lagassee Recipes". Our quests for the evening were Karen and Andy McLaughlin. Karen is an old friend of Annette and Pat and some of us know them from the annual Camp Jam music festival.

What a Great Dinner It Was!!

Our Party started out with a Spicey Chicken Finger Appetizer brought by Annette and Rink. They had a pecan coating that was delicious and they were served with a Honey Mustard dipping sauce that made them a very tasty treat.

We then sat down at the table and started things off with some Cheddar and Beer Soup that Sally and Bob made. It was seasoned with Cayanne Pepper and garnished with Tempura Batttered and deep fried Broccolli Florettes.

Next we had a delicious salad prepared for us by Jim and Judy Wert. Exotic Greens along with Grilled Shrimp and Mushrooms. Wow! This was a meal itself.

The side dish being served with our meal tonight, was a classic Emeral Lagassee Recipe. Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes. Maureen and Mike found this recipe and did it up for all of us to enjoy with our main dish. Can I get a "Bam"?

Our Main Dish of the evening, prepared for us by our hosts, Dan and Pat, was something called Matambre. (Rolled Stuffed Flank Steaks) Deliciosly roasted flank steak stuffed with spinach, carrots, and hard boiled eggs. Sliced to expose all its stuffings, it was quite a presentation and a very original Emeril Lagassee dish.

Our guests for the evening, Karen and Andy, brought us dessert. A Chocolate Pecan Pie with a Bourbon Creme Sauce. Unbelievable!! Along with dessert we enjoyed some coffee and some after dinner drinks.


After our wonderful dinner we partied "Big Time". We played a little dice game that Pat taught us and guess who won? We talked and laughed and later on Annette sang us a few tunes. It was fantastic party and everyone had a great time.
