Gourmet Club Dinner held on June 9th, 2001
The All American Dinner This Gourmet Dinner Club gathering was held on June 9th, 2001 The gathering was held at Dan and Pat's house and the theme was "All American". As people arrived we gathered on Pat's patio where we cracked open some beers. Jim and Judy decieded to attend as they originally did not know how well Judy would feel but she wanted to come and we were glad they could be with us. Pat and Dan also invited Ann and Jim Facchinei (Annette's brother) as our guest couple. We started munching on some bread and cheese spreads that Judy and Jim brought. Then, when Annette and Rink got there they treated us to some Deviled Eggs and some Stuffed Mushrooms with crabmeat. Mmm, Mm...... Then we went inside and sat ourselves down at the table where Sally and I set everyone up with some soup. We made a creamy Asparagus Soup that we thought fit the All American theme. Afterwhich we served up an all American Garden Salad with either Honey Mustard, Creamy Ranch, Or Classic Italian dressing. We cleared off the soup and salad plates and Dan put the finishing touches on our Main Course entree. Pat and Dan prepared Individual Beef Wellingtons which were tender filets that were wrapped in filo dough and baked. With this they served a Borlaise Sauce. For a side dish, Mike and Maureen brough some grilled Asparagus that was fresh and tender and went well with the filets. They also brought some Spicey Scallops that were quite a tastey treat. We then sat back and relaxed a bit and then our guests, Ann and Jim, brought out desert. We had Pecan Pie and a Plum Tart. This along with some "Customized Coffees" and we were living large...... After all that we all just hung outside on the patio for a while and then we all headed on home. With that another Gourmet Dinner Club gathering was now over and plans are being made for the next one. -Bob-
