Sally and Bob Host The Next Dinner

August 8th, 2008 · Dinner Announcements

It’s official and we have a date. September 27th, 2008 will be our next club dinner party. We are going with an Italian Theme which always gives us endless possibilities and we have a couple of main dishes in mind. We’ll let you know what we decide. So get it on your calendars and check out the rotation chart if you have to. ( Its on the “members info page” ) There is definitely no shortage of Italian recipes out there so lets see what we can come up with. We will also let you know what we are doing about a guest couple. Stay tuned! More to come!

Next Dinner is at the Browne House

July 31st, 2008 · Dinner Announcements

Sally and I are looking at dates for the next dinner and figure September would be the first possibility.   September 6th, 13th, or 27th would be the proposed dates we have open.  If we can get some feed back on that we can try to get it all together and get the next dinner plan under way!  Not sure about a theme yet but we are bouncing some ideas around.  Email me or Sally with yays or nays on the dates mentioned.  If we can’t do it on one of the above mentioned dates we will have to look at October.

A delicious array of tastes and textures and colors too

July 20th, 2008 · Club Babble

Our last dinner at the JWert household….   My favorite colors being green for the greens in the salad and the squash in the delicate vegetable paella and maroon for the red wine sangria.   Netti

Dinner at the Wert House 6/28/08

June 30th, 2008 · Dinner Reviews, Memories

entre.jpgOur dinner at Jim and Judy’s is now part of history.  We had a wonderful party with great food, a long soaking in the hot tub, too much beer and wine, and lots of laughter.  We had an additional guest, Judy’s long time girlfriend Chris joined us, making it a party of 11 with Carol and Gus joining us too.

We started out with plenty of appetizers.  Annette and Rink brought some kind of delicious grainy crackers and a chic pea spread/dip that got us all thinking Mediterranian and Chris made a Spanish Tortilla which was a baked potato, cheese and egg dish.  Very Mediterranian!  Mike and Maureen also brought an appetizer of clams with spicey sausage and white beans.

I could have walked away then but there was much more to come.  We took a little break and endulged in some more drink and what not,,, then gathered around the table and had some chilled Sally Browne Gaspacho with some big croutons.  Even after all the appetizers this was very refreshing and went down very well.  Then we had a fresh green salad that Annette made with some home grown veggies along with her homemade Salad Dressing.
